Living in a warm climate for Christmas

Hello Christmas Lovers

I really love Christmas the smells and wintery themes of snowmen , snowflakes, sleigh bells & warm cracking fires. Living in North America for most of my life becoming accustom to those things.

Moving to a warmer climate to marry and raise my family I find it difficult to enjoy the same type of things I associate to Christmas. It's been 10 years since I moved here and so much want to enjoy but find it hard not having those warm fuzzy feelings. My family is the most important part and I realize that but want to capture that spirit I had back home in America. All the songs are geared for winter holly and mistletoe.

I want to hear about the summer things people enjoy that makes Christmas. I've tried for years to make a summer themed christmas tree but I find it so hard because all we see in the stores are Santa’s in big red suits or snowmen. Why!!??? Is it because there isn't a market for it? Is it that most who are in the warmer climates just do not celebrate like other parts of the world? One of our traditions is to ride around counting trees we could see in the houses and playing Christmas CD’s in the car singing as loud as possible. The person who counted the most by the end of the night won. Sadly because where I live it’s not dark until 8 or 9 in the evening. Also hardly anyone decorates one out of maybe 10 houses if lucky. I find most here revolt in commercialism of Christmas. Just today on the news a  local department store who has  had a  huge Santa  in  the downtown area decided it was  not in the budget to  put up this  year. Santa Story Here Well thank god the people who love Christmas came together to save it. Why and how do we as  Christmas Lovers  get those that don't understand why it’s important to  have traditions.

Only 62 days until Christmas 2014

ho ho ho ho
